Author Guidelines

The Editorial Team of Al-Tarbawi Al-Haditsah: Jurnal Pendidikan Islam invites authors to submit their scientific articles according to the following guidelines: 

  1. The article has not been published or accepted for publication, or is being considered for publication elsewhere. Apart from the manuscript, a written statement must be attached explaining that the article is original and does not contain elements of plagiarism.
  2. Types of articles suitable for publication include the following; research reports (laboratory, field, archives), conceptual ideas, studies, theory applications. 
  3. Articles are written preferably in English, Arabic, and Bahasa using academic language along with standard academic writing structure and composition. Manuscripts are typed 1,5 spaced in a quarto paper size (A4), between 5000-7000 words in length including references, pictures, and tables.
  4. Articles should be in form of essay which includes:
  • Title (15-20 words);
  • Author’s name (without any academic degree) with an e-mail address and institution’s name;
  • Abstract (150-200 words for each) which includes research problems, methods, and results;
  • Keywords (5 words);
  • Author’s personal information and e-mail address;
  • Introduction (without subsection, 2-3 pages) which includes background, objectives, methods, and literature reviews/ theoretical construct (if needed) of the research. The introduction section  ends with an emphasis on items to be discussed;
  • Discussion (consists of result of the study, written in the form of subchapter(s));
  • Conclusion (is a brief summary of findingsand discussion. It is strongly recommended to 
    avoid mere repetitive statements from the previous sections);
  • References. 
  1. Reference list format is based on Chicago Manual of Style 17th edition. The reference list should appear at the end of the article and includes only literature actually cited in the manuscripts. References are ordered alphabetically and chronologically. We strongly recommend authors to use reference tools, such as Mendeley, Zotero, etc.

  • Printed book: Author, A.A. Title of book. (Publisher City: Publisher Name. Year of Publication). 
  • Online book: Author, A.A. Title of book. Year of Publication. [E-Reader Version]. Retrieved from http://xxxx or doi:xxxx
  • Journal article in print: Author, A.A. Article title. Periodical Title, Publication Year. Volume (Issue), pp.-pp.
  • Journal article online: Author, A.A. Article title. Periodical Title, Publication Year. Volume (Issue), pp.-pp. doi: xx.xxxx or Retrieved from journal URL

  • Newspaper in print: Author, A.A. (Year, Month Date of Publication). Article title. Newspaper Title, pp. xx-xx.

  • Magazine article in print: Author, A.A. (Year, month of Publication). Article title. Magazine Title, Volume (Issue), pp.-pp.
  • Encyclopedia: Author, A.A.. Entry title. In Encyclopedia title, Publication Year. (Vol. XX, pp. XX).City, State of publication: Publisher.
  1. The editor appreciates if authors excerpt information from previously published articles in Al-Tarbawi Al-Haditsah: Jurnal Pendidikan Islam.
  2. Articles should be submitted in soft files using Microsoft Word application to the Online Submission page.

Online Submitting Manuscript Guidelines

The manuscript text must be submitted by one of two systems (second procedure will be preferred):

  1. Submitting document should be done by Online Submission System in the Al-Tarbawi Al-Haditsah: Jurnal Pendidikan Islam E-journal portal.
  2. First, the author should register as an author or reviewer (checking role as author or reviewer) in the “Register” or HERE.
  3. After registration completed, log in as an author, click in “New Submission”. The article submits stage consist five stages, such as:  (1). Start, (2). Upload Submission, (3). Enter Metadata, (4). Upload Supplementary Files, (5). Confirmation.
  4. In the “Start” column, chose Journal Section (Full Article), check all the checklists.
  5. In the “Upload Submission” Columns, upload the manuscript files at MS Word format in this column.
  6. In the “Enter Metadata” columns, fill out all the author data and affiliation. Following the Journal Title, Abstract and Indexing Keywords.
  7. In the “Upload Supplementary Files” columns, allowed to upload supplementary data file or the statement letter or other else.
  8. In the “Confirmation” columns, if all the data that you enter were right, then click “Finish Submission”.

Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.

  1. The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  2. The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, RTF, or WordPerfect document file format.
  3. Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  4. The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  5. The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines, which is found in About the Journal.
  6. Plagiarism must be less than 20%.

Authors who publish with this Journal agree to the following terms:

  1. Author retain copyright and grant the journal right of first publication with the work simultaneously licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0 International License that allow others to share the work within an acknowledgement of the work’s authorship and initial publication of this journal.
  2. Authors are able to enter into separate, additional contractual arrangement for the non-exclusive distribution of the journal’s published version of the work (e.g. acknowledgement of its initial publication in this journal).
  3. Authors are permitted and encouraged to post their work online (e.g. in institutional repositories or on their websites) prior to and during the submission process, as it can lead to productive exchanges, as well as earlier and greater citation of published works.
