Focus and Scope

Jurnal Al-Tarbiyah: Jurnal Pendidikan (Educational Journal) is a peer-reviewed journal on Education which is published by the Faculty of Education and Teacher Training of Syekh Nurjati Cirebon State Islamic University (FITK-IAIN Syekh Nurjati Cirebon). Jurnal Al-Tarbiyah: Jurnal Pendidikan welcomes and accepts qualified original research papers about education which are written by researchers, academicians, professionals, and practitioners from all over the world. All papers accepted are reviewed by at least two reviewers.  

The scope of Jurnal Al-Tarbiyah: Jurnal Pendidikan covers textual and field studies on various perspectives in educational curriculum, teaching and learning, learning media, learning materials, learning strategies and teachers’ competence in the field of Islamic Education, Indonesian Language Education, Arabic Language Education, English Language Education, Social Science Education, Mathematics Education, Biology Education, Islamic Elementary School Teacher Education, Islamic Early Childhood Education, and Islamic Education Management.

Peer Review Process

Peer review assists the editor in making editorial decisions and through the editorial communications with the author may also assist the author in improving the paper.

Al-Tarbiyah: Jurnal Pendidikan (Educational Journal) uses an online submission and double blind review policy. The submission and peer review of every article must be managed using this system and based on following Peer Review Policy.

  • Manuscript articles that are submited online to Al-Tarbiyah: Jurnal Pendidikan (Educational Journal) will be checked by the board of editor regarding focus and scope, in house style, and plagiarism.
  • The manuscript that qualifies the focus and scope of Al-Tarbiyah: Jurnal Pendidikan (Educational Journal) will be continued to the review process which will be reviewed, at least, by two reviewers with double blind review.
  • The Reviewing process will consider the novelty, objectivity, method, scientific impact, conclusion, and references.
  • The reviewing process by reviewers is done at least in two weeks.
  • Editor will make the final decision regarding the submission to the corresponding author based on reviewer’s recommendation.
  • The qualified paper will be published in English, Indonesian or Arabic
  • Al-Tarbiyah: Jurnal Pendidikan (Educational Journal) Editorial Board shall protect the confidentiality of all material submitted to the journal and all communications with reviewers.

 

Open Access Policy

This journal provides immediate open access to its content on the principle that making research freely available to the public supports a greater global exchange of knowledge.

Publication Ethic

Al-Tarbiyah: Jurnal Pendidikan welcomes and publishes original papers focusing on education. This publication ethics statement is an ethical code clarifies ethical behavior of all parties who involve in the act of publishing the articles in this journal, including editors, reviewers, and authors. This statement is based on COPE’S Best Practices Guidelines for journal Editors.

Ethical Guideline for Journal Publication

The publication of an article in a peer-reviewed Al-Tarbiyah journal serves as a platform to the work of authors which include researchers, academicians, professionals, and practitioners and their supporting institutions. The peer-reviewed articles support and reflect scientific methods. Therefore, it is essential for all parties involved in the act of publishing: the editors, reviewers, and authors to meet the expected ethical standard.

After you have finished reading the Publication Ethics Statement, please download the Publication Ethical Statement and the Letter of Copyright Agreement. Please fill them out, sign and submit the Ethical statement as a part of your initial article submission. The Copyright Agreement has to be submitted by email before the article can be published.

Duties and Responsibilities of Journal Managers

  1. Journal managers determine the name of journal, focus and scope of the journal, regularity, and accreditation if necessary.
  2. Journal managers determine the members of editorial board.
  3. Journal managers define the relationship among the editors, reviewers, authors and other parties in an agreement.
  4. Journal managers respect confidential matters for both the authors contributed in the journal and reviewers.
  5. Journal managers apply the norms and standards on the rights over the intellectual content, especially the copyright.
  6. Journal managers review the journal policies and share the result to the authors, editorial board, reviewer and readers.
  7. Journal managers develop the publication ethics for editors and reviewers.
  8. Journal managers publish the journal regularly.
  9. Journal managers guarantee the availability of financial resources for the sustainability of journal publication.
  10. Journal managers develop the network and marketing.
  11. Journal managers prepare the legality and other legal aspects related to the journal publication.

Duties and Responsibilities of Editors

  1. Editors decide the manuscripts which are qualified to be published through the editorial board meeting which adheres to the legal requirements applied related to defamation, copyright infringement, duplication, data fabrication, data falsification, and plagiarism.
  2. Editors evaluate the manuscripts for their intellectual content without regard to race, gender, sexual orientation, religious belief, ethnic origin, nationality, and political philosophy of the authors.
  3. Editors must not disclose any information related to the manuscripts submitted to anyone except the corresponding authors, reviewers, and other editorial advisors, as appropriate.  
  4. Editors must not use the unpublished materials for the editors’ own research without the written consent of the authors.
  5. Editors actively search for the opinions of authors, readers, reviewers, and editorial board members about ways to improve the journal’s processes.
  6. Editors work to pursue appropriate resources, guidance from experts and adequate training to perform their roles in a professional manner and to advance the quality of the journal.
  7. Editors support initiatives intended to decrease the academic misconduct.
  8. Editors support initiatives to educate authors about publication ethics.
  9. Editors evaluate the effects of the journal policies to the behavior of the authors and reviewers and revise the policies, as required, to promote responsible behavior and discourage misconduct.  
  10. Editors ensure that all articles published by the journal reflect the message of the reported articles and put it into context.
  11. Editors are responsible for the style and format of the articles, while the authors are responsible for the content and all the statements in the articles. 

 

Duties and Responsibilities of Reviewers

  1. Reviewers assist the editors to make editorial decision and through editorial communication with authors, reviewers may also help authors improve the articles’ quality.
  2. Any selected reviewer who feels unqualified to review the research reported or knows that it is impossible to review the article timely should give notification to the editor and excuse himself from the review process. 
  3. Reviewers must treat any manuscripts received for review as confidential documents which cannot be disclosed or discussed with others except with the permission of the editor.
  4. Reviewers must do the review process objectively and opinions should be expressed clearly with supporting arguments.
  5. Reviewers must keep the privileged information and ideas obtained through the peer review process confidential and they must not be used for the reviewers’ own personal advantage.
  6. Reviewers must not review articles involving themselves directly or indirectly.
  7. Reviewers are responsible to re-review the articles which have been revised by the authors according to the standard applied.
  8. Reviewers are responsible for quotations, references, duplications, data fabrication, data falsification, and plagiarism of the manuscripts reviewed.

 

Duties and Responsibilities of Authors

  1. Authors must read and understand the Publication Ethics and Author Guidelines before deciding to submit their articles to Al-Tarbiyah journal.
  2. Authors must submit the original work presenting an accurate and objective discussion together with accurate supporting data and adequate details and references to allow others to replicate the work without duplication, data fabrication, data falsification, and plagiarism.
  3. Authors must ensure that they write original work and they have written quotations from other authors correctly.  
  4. Authors sign the statement that the work submitted for publication is original and has not been published anywhere in any languages and is not in the process of submitting to other publishers.
  5. Authors are not allowed to submit the same manuscript to more than one journal.
  6. Authors must quote influential publication to determine the nature of reported research.
  7. The corresponding authors must ensure that the names of all authors writing the article are stated in the article and they have seen, agreed upon the last version of the article and agreed to submission of the article to be published.
  8. Authors must notify the editor as soon as they discover any significant errors in published work and work with the editor to retract or revise the article.
  9. Authors should disclose their sources (including financial sources) directly or indirectly.
  10. Authors responds comments given by reviewers in professionally and timely.

 

 

Plagiarism Check

Each articles entry will undergo the screening process for plagiarism check using Plagiarism Checker X and Turnitin. It is allowed exceed for only maximum 25% of tolerance.

 

References Management

The writing citations and bibliography in Al - Tarbiyah: Jurnal Pendidikan will make use of Mendeley software.
