Abstract

Abstract:

The aim of this research is to study the words of return in the Holy Qur’an. To know the extent of their occurrence and use in the Qur’an, and to determine their relationship to the phenomenon of semantic fields. He also tried to determine the role of context in determining the meanings that these words carry in the places in which they occur, using the sayings of commentators in interpreting them, relying on the descriptive inductive approach. I divided the research into two sections, which were preceded by An introduction, followed by a conclusion of the research, then a list of sources and references. The research reached results, the most important of which are: that some of these words move from their positive meanings to additional or metaphorical meanings, which the vocabulary acquires from the contexts in which they appear, and this happens when the words include the meanings of other words, as noted. This is like the word (comes), which includes the meaning of (does) in the Almighty’s saying: “And those of your women who commit indecency†in Surah An-Nisa. Also, some of these words had more than one positive meaning due to their development, such as: the word (came), which acquired another positive meaning.
