Pengaruh Keterampilan Managerial Kepala Sekolah dan Iklim Sekolah Terhadap Komitmen Kerja Guru Sekolah Dasar Kristen di Kabupaten Boven Digoel

                                                        Abstrak

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan pengaruh keterampilan manajerial kepala sekolah dan iklim sekolah terhadap komitmen kerja guru sekolah dasar (SD) Kristen di kabupaten Boven Digoel, Papua. Untuk mencapai tujuan tersebut peneliti menerapkan pendekatan penelitian kuantitatif dengan rancangan penelitian survey. Dua rumusan masalah yang menuntun pelaksanaan penelitian ini adalah: (a) apakah keterampilan manajerial kepala sekolah berpengaruh secara positif dan signifikan terhadap komitmen kerja guru SDKristen di kabupaten Boven Digoel, Papua? dan (b) apakah iklim sekolah berpengaruh secara positif dan signifikan terhadap komitmen kerja guru SD Kristen di Kabupaten Boven Digoel, Papua? Tiga angket kuantitatif disebarkan kepada 94 guru yang sudah ditetapkan sebagai responden. Data penelitian dianalisis secara kuantitatif menggunakan teknik analisis regresi linear sederhana dengan bantuan software Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS) version 16 for windows. Hasil analisis data menunjukkan bahwa keterampilan manajerial kepala sekolah dan iklim sekolah berpengaruh secara positif dan signifikan terhadap komitmen kerja guru Kristen di kabupaten Boven Digoel, Papua. Hasil penelitian ini menjadi catatan serius bagi kepala sekolah dan kepala dinas pendidikan pada level pemerintah daerah untuk meningkatkan komitmen kerja guru melalui berbagai upaya standarisasi keterampilan manajerial kepala sekolah dan perbaikan iklim SD Kristen di kabupaten Boven Digoel, Papua.

Abstract

This research aims to describe the effect of principals’ managerial skills and school climate on teachers’ working commitment in Christian elementary schools of Boven Digoel Regency, Papua. In doing so Researcher employed a quantitative approach using survey research design. Two problem statements guided this study as follows: (a) does principals’ managerial skills effect significant positively on teachers’ working commitment in the Christian elementary schools of Boven Digoel Regency, Papua?  and (b) does school climate effect significant positively on teachers’ working commitment in the Christian elementary schools of Boven Digoel Regency, Papua?. Three quantitative questionnaires were distributed to 94teachers, drawn purposively amongst teachers in the Christian primary schools of Boven Digoel Regency,Papua. Data were analyzed quantitatively using simple linear regression with the help of Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS) version 16 for windows. Results of data analysis revealed that principals’ managerial skills and school climate effect significant positively on teachers’ working commitment in the Christian primary of Boven Digoel Regency, Papua. Findings of this study might be worthwhile for the education policymakers in the regional government level to enhance teachers’ working commitment through programs of standardizing the principals’ managerial skilland ofboosting school climate.
